Beauty Editors on Their All-Time Favourite Monsoon Fragrances

“I’m a creature of habit. Whether it’s my perfumes, my handy M.A.C Studio Fix Powder or my love for jasmine in any form. And so my loyalties for the past 10 years have been with Chanel Chance Eau Fraîche. While I do try new fragrances and occasionally use Elie Saab’s Le Parfum, I loyally go back to this citrusy-floral fragrance.

What I particularly like about this EDT is that it multitasks as a day as well as a night fragrance. Plus, the zesty note of lemon and vetiver are an instant pick-me-up. I do the spritz and walk through a couple of times and make sure I moisturise before, to make it last longer. The chemistry is perfect.”

“I love crisp white florals—gardenia, jasmine samac and tuberose are my holy trinity when it comes to scents. But for monsoon, I prefer warm, comforting scents. My current and long time favourite is the Jo Malone London Cologne Intense Myrrh and Tonka. It’s such a warm and all enveloping fragrance.

Vanilla, almond and tonka beans coddle the senses and myrrh and lavender bring a certain sensuality to the mix. It’s exactly what you need when it’s pouring crazy outside and you’re curled up inside in cashmere binge watching your favourite movie. I wish they poured it into a candle already. The scent for me is the equivalent of a hug from a loved one!”

“Looking for an elegant, inoffensive fragrance for a sensitive nose? You Or Someone Like You by Etat Libre d’Orange is the one.

It’s fresh with bursts of mint and green notes and finishes with a smooth white musk. What I love is that it continues to smell just as fresh and breezy even on a hot summer day.”
