Christopher Kane’s SS ’16 Collection Of Inspired Neon

Christopher Kane’s design philosophy has been electrifying the fashion world since he launched his eponymous label in 2006. His approach is both abstract and personal, dextrously combining his multiple interests that run from art to science, eroticism to technology.

The Glaswegian born Central Saint Martins graduate has grown from being a rising star in Britain to gathering critical and international acclaim. It gives us such pleasure to be part of his success as he launches in India, retailing exclusively at Le Mill.

What we love most about Kane’s aesthetic is the playful, subversive spin he puts on common, arguably unfashionable ideas. As he remarked in an interview for The Guardian,

“I don’t care about good taste or bad taste. That’s why I love neon. It’s all around us, and it’s so beautiful, but we don’t see it.”

His recent collections have addressed nudism in figurative art, helixes, biological diagrams, welded automobile parts and of course, neon – twisting them with feminine attributes like rainbow hues, lace and a narrow waist.

Whether drawing from his own childhood or acknowledging the Millennial desire to embed technology in every aspect of modern life, he never steers from his vision to dress women of today – for today.
