FW16 Channeling ’30s Hollywood Glamour
The 1930s saw the emergence of the leading lady and femme fatale. No longer were female actresses sidelined as the damsel in distress, but they are now being portrayed as strong, independent women who frankly, don’t give a damn. Actresses like Katherine Hepburn and Vivien Leigh exemplified what it meant to be feminine and sexy.
Glamour this season means velour and leopard print, ballet inspired silhouettes and glossy colours. We love the way Dries Van Noten has brought forward this aesthetic with shiny velvet, metallic hues and old school glamour.
