The Victorian Goth of FW16
We explore five overarching trends that Le Mill has identified for Fall Winter 2016. Our first muse is channeling a bygone era of the 1900’s, a lovechild of Jane Eyre and Edgar Allen Poe. The Victorian Goth is inspired by neo-classical architecture and the revival of British arts and literature. We’re seeing dark lips and pale skin at Marc Jacobs; new takes on the corset at Balmain, Loewe and Prada; cascading frills at Gucci and Alexander McQueen; and never ending layers of tulle at Chloe, Chanel and Valentino. When you hear goth you may immediately think black on black but we’re seeing lots of bright pinks and brocades that have added a playful richness to the trend.
